ANDREW WITTER, Chair

Andrew Witter is a Banking Officer at Grand Bank, providing a range of banking services for small businesses and individuals. He is a graduate of Kansas State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance. Andrew uses his banking background to support young people to create and maintain financial health; he teaches financial literacy classes for at risk youth. Before devoting his work full-time to Grand Bank, Andrew began his career with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation as a Bank Examiner. 

In addition to being a banking officer, Andrew is also an entrepreneur. He is the Co-Owner of the Glacier Confection companies.

Originally from Lenexa, Kansas, Andrew has made Tulsa his home by investing in both health and educational ventures across the city. He is passionate about engaging with his community and prefers to spend his free time in a volunteer capacity. Andrew is the Founding Board Chair of the Red Shoe Society, a trustee of the TYPros Foundation, a member of Tulsa Cares, and active supporter of H.O.P.E.  


SAM Powell

Sam Powell is a staff writes and account manager for sixPR, a local public relations firm. She leads accounts ranging from casinos to international renewable energy companies to university athletics. She was born and raised in the Tulsa area and graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Public Relations.

She also serves on the board of YoungLives, a ministry aimed at supporting and loving on teen moms.

Sam enjoys being active and outdoors, meals on patios with friends, and live music.


ELIAN HURTADO

Elian is a business consultant with over 20 years of expertise in helping financial companies increase revenue and grow their presence in Hispanic/Latinx communities. She has worked for Wells Fargo and Arvest Bank as a mortgage lender. During her tenure as Vice President at Arvest, she created the Financial Literacy Center for Hispanic clients. During her last job as Director of Client Services at Habitat for Humanity, she created a financial education program for aspiring homeowners and led the organization through the process of becoming HUD certified.

Elian was appointed by the Mayor of Tulsa as a trustee of the Tulsa Authority for Economic Development (TAEO), she currently serves as Vice Chair.

 

CHRIS MAHNKEN

Chris Mahnken is a 2009 Teach For America Tulsa alumnus that has spent the majority of his career in education. He worked as a teacher and administrator for Tulsa Public Schools until joining KIPP Tulsa, a public charter school, in 2015. While at KIPP, Chris had the opportunity to participate in several school leadership fellowships that ultimately resulted in him acting as the founding school leader of KIPP Tulsa University Prep High School, the first AP-for-All high school in the state of Oklahoma.

Chris has since retired from education and works for Keyrenter Property Management, an investor-focused real estate firm with branches in Tulsa, Oklahoma City, and Northwest Arkansas.

Chris enjoys staying involved in the Tulsa education scene, walking his dogs around Brookside, and enjoying all of the cycling trails that Tulsa has to offer.
